Music for Little Mozarts - Ages 4 - 6

Mondays 3:00 pm March 18 - May 13 (recital final day of class) Students aged 4 - 6 are introduced to new musical concepts and the performance of pieces at the piano through a fun and engaging program known as Music for Little Mozarts. The story of Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse sets the stage for music study at the beginning and continues on each subsequent page. Other characters throughout the book serve as a springboard for introducing students to major composers from the four main musical style periods. Taught by Louis Ontko, OSR's music instructor, new concepts are introduced and carefully reinforced utilizing the book and story. Each page contains a fragment of the story as background for each new concept or new piece of music, as well as practice instructions to read to the student. The music was written to develop finger dexterity in young children and includes clever lyrics that will appeal to the student's imagination. Level 1 is a 10 week program. Includes weekly 30 minute group classes, Mozart Mouse and Beethoven Bear stuffed animals, Flash Cards Book 1, Compact Disc 1, Music Lesson Book 1, Music Discovery Book 1, Music Workbook 1, magnetic Grand Staff/Piano dry erase board (with magnets and dry erase pen) and a tote bag. Maximum group size is 5 students.
