Mondays 2 - 4:00 pm August 17 - November 30 No class September 7, November 23 Girl loves boy. Boy loves girl. Dad hates boy, but wants daughter to be with another...who someone else loves. Magical forest. Crazy actors. Ridiculous fairies. Mixed-up love potions. A donkey’s head. We’ve all seen Shakespeare’s most famous comedy, A Midsummer Night’s Dream. But none captures the mischievous fun, spirit, and storyline quite like this one! This sparkling adaptation is the perfect hybrid, with the play feeling timeless, yet having modern references to things in today’s world, like cell phones, Uber, and cute shoes. Likewise, the names of the characters are true to Shakespeare’s classic, yet the language is contemporary... with just a few original monologues to heighten the educational value of this play. On Stage Ready is proud to announce that Midsummer(ish) will be a fully produced play for actors aged 8-17. Directed by Hannah Olsen, rehearsals for will be held on Mondays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm beginning August 17. Technical and dress rehearsals will be Tuesday December 1 and Thursday December 3 from 6 pm - 8:30 pm. The public performance will be at On Stage Ready's outdoor stage on Saturday December 5 at 7:00 pm. Sunday, December 6 at 7:00 pm will be held as a second performance date (TBD) or an alternate performance date should inclement weather cause any the scheduled performance to be cancelled. Actors should be available for all technical and dress rehearsals as well as performance and alternate performance dates. Students in this course should be available to attend all rehearsals, and any conflicts will need to be given to the director by week 2. Students should bring labeled water bottle to each rehearsal and wear comfortable clothing for movement. Course tuition includes all sessions, actor's script, show t shirt, costume(s), and fun! Deposit of $150 due at registration, additional tuition of $100 due on September 1, October 1, and November 1. Course may be cancelled if minimum enrollment is not met.
