Prerequisite: Acting 101, completion of a previous foundational acting course at On Stage Ready, or with instructor approval. Email us at onstageready@gmail.com with questions. Acting 201 builds on foundational skills and guides students into more advanced, partner-based work. In this next-level acting class, students will dive into scene study, working in pairs and small groups on material from plays, film, and television. The focus shifts toward developing truthful connection through listening and reacting, as well as introducing the core principles of the Stanislavski method. Throughout the semester, students will rehearse and refine their scenes for an end-of-semester showcase. Each scene will also be filmed and edited by the instructor, giving students valuable footage to begin or expand their acting reel—a key tool for future film and TV audition submissions.
